Candy! Earthquakes! Buttons! Dinosaurs! Beer! Cards! Weather! Mushrooms! Money! Newspapers!
And More!
Tours For Free Colorado, written by Jodi Jill, is a helpful guide for visiting Colorado. There are many remarkable places listed to tour all over the state, and they are all free.
Visit Celestial Seasonings and sample their many different types of teas. Drop by the mint in Denver and see how money is made. Take a drive through Garden of the Gods. See the mountaintop where Buffalo Bill is buried.
"The most important thing that I have learned in my years of travel is if I can spend less, I visit longer," Jill said. "It is more fun for me to explore all the companies and government entities, to meet the people who work and play in a region, than to take a paid group tour."
Jill has scoured the state for over 20 years, and has come up with a wonderful book that will keep you busy. But be careful when organizing your visits each day out of the over 100 places to tour, more than one-half of them are alcohol-related. In addition to the Coors and Budweiser plants, Colorado is home to more micro-breweries per capita than any other state. As well, there are a dozen winery tours.
