Sidney BC Welcomes Overnight Visits by RVs for the Summer 2000 season! |
|
| Press Release |
Self-contained RVs are now welcome to overnight in "Sidney-By-The-Sea".
Downtown Sidney is only 5 Km (3 miles) from the BC Ferry terminal where cars and RVs from Vancouver (Tsawwassen terminal) arrive on Vancouver Island (Swartz Bay terminal), perhaps on the way to Victoria or Butchart Gardens. The Sidney to Anacortes Ferry (Washington State Ferry) comes into downtown Sidney making this stop-over ideal for travelers to discover, as so many boaters have over the years, just how much Sidney has to offer visitors. The visitor Information kiosks (en route to your camping spot on the grounds of Sancha Community Hall) will provide you with lots of things to do and see in this gem of a tourist town on the tip of the Saanich Peninsula. Sidney BC is Canada's only "Book Town"- come in and browse!
The $15.00 overnight charge, which includes electricity, will go towards the renovation of this popular community center. The four RV dealers of Sidney are located just across the highway, easy access from Sancha Hall should you need any service, parts or accessories. Downtown is just a five-minute stroll away. A sani-station is located at Triangle RV and signage is displayed on the Pat Bay Highway (#17).
Open with 20 grass sites (electricity available) from June 1st to Sept 15th 2000, this is a first for the town and the "city fathers", merchants and residents, look forward to welcoming you this summer. This will be your best "first stop" for visiting Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. We know you will enjoy your stay!
Questions? Please call the Visitor Information Centre at 250-656-0525 or Triangle RV Centre at 1-800-656-0525.
